Soul Craft: Viking Shields (Open to Michigan Veterans)

Join us for an unforgettable workshop where we’re not only crafting bad*#! Viking shields but also forging lasting bonds and building community through the shared art of ancient craftsmanship. We’ll be using metal, wood, and leather to craft our own unique shields to take home.

~An unique opportunity created and brought to you by Veterans Rising as a part of the Kent County Veterans Services Veterans Recreation Program made possible by grant funding through the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.~

WHO: Any Veteran living in Michigan is welcome to attend! We’ve got plenty of space and can accomodate 20 veterans this year.
You cannot have “no-showed” to any prior Veterans Rising events in order to be eligible to attend this event.)
Food: Lunch will be provided. Please bring beverages to stay hydrated throughout the day and any snacks you need. We will have cold waters on hand.

Parking: Free and plentiful (on grass)
Cost: $0
Dress: Closed-toe shoes and loose hair secured is required for safety for this event. Dress appropriately to be in a shop environment with power tools.
Notes: We will be on site at the 51 Bravo Forge for this workshop. This is an open-air environment (we will not be in air conditioned space) so come prepared for the weather.

NO-SHOWING for an event you are registered for will cancel out any future reservations you have with Veterans Rising and may suspend your right to sign up for future events.
We strive to keep costs at a minimum for our members. In order to do this, we ask that if your plans change after signing up for an event you let us know and cancel your registration.
This allows us to adjust our pre-paid reservations, to allow another guest to register, and to adjust staffing as needed. Thank you for your help with this!
